Yitzhak was a historian, Labor Zionist leader, and the longest-serving President of Israel. Born in Ukraine, Ben-Zvi immigrated to Palestine in 1907, and he studied law in Istanbul with David Ben-Gurion. He was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and he served as president until his death in 1963.
