The Stella Maris Monastery in Haifa, built in the nineteenth century, stands on the slope of Mount Carmel on the east side of the main road, opposite the lighthouse, with a splendid view of the Mediterranean Sea. The complex of buildings, including the lighthouse, it is known as “Stella Maris.”
