First Railway Station of Jerusalem

by Touchpoint Israel

For over 100 years, from 1892 to 1998, trains ran from Jaffa to this station in Jerusalem. After service was cancelled, it sat abandoned for many years. Recently, however, the railway station has been renovated and given new life and purpose.

It is now one of Jerusalem’s most popular venues for entertainment, shopping, and dining. Various restaurants, specialty shops, farmer’s markets, and live musicians draw crowds for something different every day of the week. Located in the heart of Jerusalem, near upscale communities like the German Colony and Yemin Moshe, the railway station is within convenient walking distance of a large number of Jerusalem’s hotels and attractions. The First Station, as it is known, offers guests bike and Segway rentals for an afternoon of exploring the city.
